Randall Hall offers a variety of concert and pedagogical programs. Any combination of the following presentations, or new events, may be arranged.

RECITAL - A full concert program featuring music for solo saxophone, saxophone and piano, and saxophone and electronics. Works are drawn from contemporary literature and include extended performance techniques and improvisations. Programs of traditional saxophone repertoire are also available.

CONCERT SOLOS - Performances with orchestra, wind ensemble or chamber ensemble. Performances range from classical concertos to the avant-garde and experimental.

SAXOPHONE MASTER-CLASS - A traditional pedagogical format in which saxophone students receive a public coaching in interpretation and technique.

MUSIC OF GIACINTO SCELSI - Presentation on aesthetic and analytical issues of twentieth century Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi based on research done at the Scelsi Foundation in Rome.

IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP - A clinic/demonstration for musicians interested in exploring the possibilities of improvising in various idioms of contemporary art music. Topics include the use of modern instrumental techniques, developing structural frameworks for improvisation, and incorporating other arts and media.

COMPOSITION WORKSHOP - A workshop for composition students to help them better understand the range and limitations of the modern saxophone, its capabilities for extended techniques, and the notation of these techniques. Also explores the aesthetic potential of these new technical possibilities.
